Wordless Wednesday ~ Why did the Lizard cross the road?

“At noon in the desert a panting lizard waited for history, its elbows tense, watching the curve of a particular road as if something might happen.” William Stafford

We found one of these lizards in our yard once. The kids had a ball taking him to school for show and tell. After they had learnt all about him, we released him back into the bush. Very cool!

My kids got to handle some very cool reptiles at a wildlife party recently. Mr12 was all over the lizards, Miss 5 would only touch the turtle!
I'm not sure that I'd be willing to get that close to a lizard. But thanks to your amazing photo, I won't have to.
