Thankful for the Pony Tail and the kindest cut.

An update to my Beautiful Lengths post and the inaugural Pantene Beautiful Lengths National Donate Your Hair Week in Australia.

On Monday 12th November - 54 women made the kindest cut during donation launch event at Martin Place in Sydney CBD with Pantene ambassadors Barney Martin and Zoe Foster leading a charge of generous women who donated their hair to the campaign. Thought they aimed for 100 - 54 was a great start.

Alongside its charity partner Look Good…Feel Better, Pantene offered free haircuts with leading hairstylist and Beautiful Lengths ambassador, Barney Martin, and his team of expert hairdressers to every woman who pledged their ponytail. Barney’s fellow Pantene ambassador, beauty expert, Zoe Foster, was on hand to offer advice on styles and treatments. They also left with a new short hairstyle, a goodie bag packed full of products.

Barney commented: “I was overwhelmed by the generosity of the women turned up to donate their hair to Pantene Beautiful Lengths. I’m so proud to have been a part of this brilliant campaign and I hope women across Australia continue to donate and go short for summer – there’s no better reason to!”
Zoe commented: “Being able to experience firsthand the women giving up their beautiful luscious locks to donate to Pantene Beautiful Lengths was very inspiring and humbling. I loved being able to offer them advice on their new short styles and they all left looking truly fabulous. Being part of Pantene’s campaign to support women with cancer has been an amazing experience so far and I hope lots more women decide to chop off their ponytails ready for summer.”

Thankful for these generous ladies too.

I am so thankful for Beautiful Lengths, the first program of its kind in Australia to inspire women to grow, cut and donate their hair to be turned into real-hair wigs for women undergoing cancer treatment.

I've been nude bald now for over 3 months and everyday I remind myself it's just hair. It will and it is growing back. It is still a struggle to see myself in the mirror.I didn't like the synthetic wigs.

As shallow or stupid as it sounds I have to match my head gear to my outfit [or vice versa] and that is HARD emotionally and physicall . Some days it looks and feels all wrong but I have no choice .

At home on the farm I am thankful I hardly see anyone so I go nude {on my head people ...though we are secluded enough I could do both}.
This is not a sponsored post - I'm totally inspired by the program so I'm sharing.
